Another study published by BMC Public Health found that fluoridated water was associated with reduced cognitive performance in children and concluded by saying, “Prenatal and childhood excessive fluoride exposures may impair the intelligence development of school children. Furthermore, children with prenatal fluoride exposure had lower IQ scores than children who were not prenatally exposed.”
These studies are by no means outliers; according to the Fluoride Action Network – an organization that actively opposes the addition of fluoride to drinking water – the proven negative health consequences of excess fluoride include thyroid disease, increased risk of bone fractures, arthritis, male infertility, diabetes, kidney disease, and beyond.
