  • Purify any freshwater source!
  • Your Travel Berkey Includes: 2 Black Berkey purification elements, 1 priming washer, and 1 BPA free nylon spigot (see 4th photo), home and backcountry instructions.
  • Included Black Berkey Purification elements last for 22,700 Liters (6,000 Gallons) as a pair, are cleanable, and self-sterilizing. For most people this works out to a 5-6 year lifespan.
  • Great for 1-2 people!  Families and groups of 2-3 are happy they have ordered the next size up, the Big Berkey Water Purifier.
  • Holds 5.7 L (1.5 G) of water.
  • Purifies 9.5 L (2.5 G)/hour with 2 Black Berkey Elements (when upper chamber is full).

Pros: Healthy, good tasting water with mineral content preserved, decent amount of drinkable water produced each day, convenient to maintain, long lasting, looks good in my kitchen. Cons/advice: You need to be careful not to over-fill it or it will spill over. Remember to re-prime filters after cleaning (back-flush) or it gets very slow. Because this is one of the smaller models, I sometimes like to save up some extra water when I have guests arriving for a few days, in case I run out or forget to fill it.

What an excellent choice for camping! I took my travel Berkey while my campmates all hauled water from the city for the entire trip. They were amazed at the wonderful results from the berkey! While the berkey disassembles quite nicely to become more compact, it would be nice to have the lid to be able to nest with the other compartments for travel as well as a travel case to protect it. Definitely my choice for future trips.

I live and teach in northern Ontario where we are under a boil water alert; I feel very safe purifiying my water with my Berkey. It is very portable as it fits nicely in my suitcase; easy to clean…I clean it every 3 weeks….I also own the Alkaline water bottle…what I like about it is if I am visiting someone and I drink my water, I can just use their water and within minutes, I have alkaliine water. I really like my unit; I feel that my water is safe because of Berkey.

    Nov-29-2012.

I bought the travel berkey for the two of us.
Works as advertized. Mine filters water quite quickly, unlike some of the other reports i have read.
I will use it at the cabin to filter creek water to drink and i run city water through it for home use. Failrly well built, but the filters should have some kind of brace so they dont break at the base, i have heard complaints about this before, must be gentle with it with the tall vertical filters.
Overall pleased with product so far.

I purcahsed the travel berkey for my family. Wanted something small and transportable even if i sacrifice some speed in the purification process. It is great to drink clean water without flouride. I hope that my kids will have a life without ingesting any chemicals added to our water. I would recommend that everyone get a berkey and replace those plastic water bottles, for your health and the environment.
Scott at conscious water was extremely helpful, answered all my questions and let me make my decision, with no pressure. Thanks Scott.

I bought the Travel Berkey for my son in unversity since he didn’t like the taste of the water in his new town. He is very happy with this system and has no problems filling up the water. He hasn’t boiled the alkalizing stones yet, but will with a gentle reminder. All is well with this system. He does not have the glass sipgott and I see no reason to purchase this extra piece for him.

I’m no scientist and I haven’t done any research on how pure the water is after being filtered by my Berkey, but I sure as heck call tell a difference. Heck, I always thought my tap water tasted fine, now I know how wrong I was. I don’t plan on having to filter pond water or anything crazy through it, I’m sure it could handle it. I just wanted clean, fresh tasting water. Perfect size for two and then some.

Excellent product, I got my royal about christmas and I have found myself drinking more water than I used to. I love that doesn’t taste chlorine…yuk never like that taste and feeling, :-):-):-):-) Thanks Scott for being so conscious….:-):-):-):-) I give this product a ***** five stars but for some reason when I click the stars just gave me 3.

I have been using my Berkery to remove fluoride and arsenic (yes we are still being poisoned deliberately by the City of Ottawa) for the past 3 years. What a godsend!

I have a travel Berkey. I have used Reverse Osmosis units before but this is way way better. It takes less time, no hoses, and it’s not acidic and doesn’t need to be re-mineralized. It only takes out the bad stuff.
I was in an area that had a *don’t drink the water* warning… but I missed it, they didn’t give out papers in the mail, they just drove around announcing it… while no one was home during the middle of the day!
We were fine, and only found out about the water 4 days into the warning. The water there was always extremely unsafe! Chlorine is horrible. Bleach causes cancer and we know that, so we should know better than to drink it! I love my Berkey. Wish I had a bigger one… and the tiny BerkeyGo… I’m allergic to chlorine etc. So I really can’t be without it!
I’m on well water now, and don’t have to worry about it being safe either. (it has always tested way cleaner than the nearest town water anyway)

I have a Travel Berkey for home, with both black and white filters. Water tastes so much better since I’ve been using it, and I cook with this water, too. I’m happy that the lead is out, as I’m in an older part of Toronto where there are lead pipes bringing water into the house.

Scott’s the least-pushy salesperson around: once, when I was writing to purchase replacement black filters, he wrote to say the ones I’d got should still be good for X number of years/months! So no sale until they were used up!

I told a friend of mine about this system, and she purchased one as well. She looked at it from the point of view of a molecular chemist, which is what she is, so I figure, it’s a definitely good idea, especially the fluoride filters. Fluoride is a substance meant to be used topically and I’d rather have a choice about ingesting it.
